One persistent Nurse Practioner, always curious. Her name is Pamila Boyd, my hero!
"You need to take your wife to ER...her kidneys are failing as we speak".
Fast forward...
I've been diagnosed with Lupus. An auto-immune disease which means that cells are so tough that they attack the good cells along with the bad.
January - February hospital stay. Dialysis, blood tests, surgery (catheter), meds.
The symptoms became very obvious - from my 2012 diagnosed pneumonia to my physical fatigue, blurry vision, cold hands, fatigueness, fever, clammy hands.
I turned 51 on February 15th, and my life is totally different. My kidneys failed and I have Lupus. My joints feel hard and heavy. My bones ache. Rhumatoid arthritis- a big part of lupus.
Medications, medications, medications. 18 of them.
Dialysis 3 x a week, Fistula surgically rooted.Healing process will take weeks. Recently using one small needle at a time.
I am still me. I don't always feel good. Fatigue often wins. The support of my husband and family and friends are what's keeping my strength. The outpouring prayers surrounded my spiritual self. Angels harkened their wings!

The weekend that I was admitted in ER, I learned that my dad had a heart attack and past away. Rest in Peace Daddy. I love you.
