My Kidneys are Failing!!

One persistent Nurse Practioner, always curious. Her name is Pamila Boyd, my hero!

"You need to take your wife to ER...her kidneys are failing as we speak".

Fast forward...

I've been diagnosed with  Lupus. An auto-immune disease which means that cells are so tough that they attack the good cells along with the bad.

January - February hospital stay. Dialysis, blood tests, surgery (catheter), meds.

The symptoms became very obvious - from my 2012 diagnosed pneumonia to my physical fatigue, blurry vision, cold hands, fatigueness, fever, clammy hands.

I turned 51 on February 15th, and my life is totally different. My kidneys failed and I have Lupus. My joints feel hard and heavy. My bones ache. Rhumatoid arthritis- a big part of lupus.

Medications, medications, medications. 18 of them.

Dialysis 3 x a week, Fistula surgically rooted.Healing process will take weeks. Recently using one small needle at a time.

I am still me. I don't always feel good. Fatigue often wins. The support of my husband and family and friends are what's keeping my strength. The outpouring prayers surrounded my spiritual self. Angels harkened their wings!

Space between...

The weekend that I was admitted in ER, I learned that my dad had a heart attack and past away. Rest in Peace Daddy. I love you.

First of all, Thank you God for watching over me during my health scare a few weeks ago. As someone who grew up hard-headed when it comes to following orders - it almost cost me my own life. Pneumonia means business! Walking pneumonia is one nasty and can be fatal condition if ignored! I know that now. Having a high temperature of 104 can be fatal! Being hospitalized for 2 weeks truly made me realized that the doctors are not my enemy!! Trying to be a tough girl is not always a good thing to do especially to the people you love and love you. The love and devotion from my husband, my children, my bestfriend, friends, families, prayers, my angels and my Lord helped me with the spiritual healing that I needed. I am so happy to be home where I can begin the healing process in my own surroundings with my furry kids. I will always be grateful for my husband's love , support, and patience. He is an angel in disguise!

Part of my healing process is to go back to doing what I love and that is designing and creating primitive like pillows and crafts. I am looking forward to a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle. In addition, gardening, and visits with my beautiful grandbaby girl and spending time with my family are the BEST medicine in life.
